Oh, which way to the road less traveled?

"'Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

'Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.'"
-Matthew 7:13-15

Open hands...
so tired..
so weak..
hindered
afraid
uncertain.

"Submit" they say
"To what?" I ask
"To God's will"
"But what is His will?"
"You know, just rest in Him, he will tell you"

The problem is I do know, I do know that I don't know for sure.  The truth is I have two drastically different sides to that submit coin... as simple as submit sounds, my submission requires a decision...between two extremes.. to go or to stay.  And when they say submit do they realize what they are saying?  For me on one hand submission is not a small decision rather, a life altering, drastic one.  In both submissions I can't feel the fire to carry on.  I don't have the desire to push me forward.  I want to stay, but how?  How do I stay when I constantly feel like a failure, overwhelmed and under-motivated.

Why am I so complicated?

"You are so deep, Olivia.  All I meant was submit to His Word.  Rest in it, dwell on it, let it become a part of you."
Oh the simple truth, my perfectionism causes me to over-analyze and over think everything.  When all God wants me to do is just rest in His Word.  He'll open the doors.  I'm bound to mess up but that's okay. I have before and He only picked me up and used my mistakes to show me more of His grace.  Now He is asking me to share that grace with others... Be a light...

"Lies are slipping in
causing me to sin
wanting to do what's right
but my minds so full of  fright
Oh, which way to the road less traveled?
Which way to a happy end?
Too much time to sit and stare
over thinking is in the air

Do you know the way to go?
The road less traveled,
where honesty is unraveled

Oh how can I start
with a wedge between my heart
Where to go?
How to know?

Doors may open, some may close
to future plans no human knows,
My eyes are closed, my feet not sure
but strength and trust inside me stir.

Do you know the way to go?
The road less traveled,
where honesty is unraveled
Have you seen the heavy hand,
That guides us to a pleasant land?

Do you know the way to go?
The road less traveled,
where honesty is unraveled"

"Blessed is the one
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
    whose sin the Lord does not count against them
    and in whose spirit is no deceit.

When I kept silent,
    my bones wasted away
    through my groaning all day long.
For day and night
    your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
    as in the heat of summer.

Then I acknowledged my sin to you
    and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
    my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
    the guilt of my sin.

Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
    while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
    will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Do not be like the horse or the mule,
    which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
    or they will not come to you.
Many are the woes of the wicked,
    but the Lord’s unfailing love
    surrounds the one who trusts in him.

Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;
    sing, all you who are upright in heart!"
-Psalm 32
