Shades of Worry...

"Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes."
-Luke 12:22-23

Worry got you down?
It is so easy to let go of our trust that God is in control when thoughts are weighing on us.
Worry hits in every season; grief, joy, or contentment.
In grief we worry we’ll never be good enough, strong enough, or joyful again.
In joy we worry we are too ungrateful, too proud, too happy and not giving God enough credit.
In contentment we worry we will or have forgotten it is God’s
grace, power, and peace that brought us here.

Recently, I have spoken with many people worrying what their futures hold.  Personally, it is a daily battle to wake-up and give my day to God but when I do it makes all the difference.  Starting off our days admitting He has got our futures paved just the way He likes it, enables us to realize worry is unnecessary.
Not only should we give our day to Him early in the morning, but ask Him to open our eyes to His presence throughout our day.  This hinders worry from creeping back into our minds as we are constantly reminded God is actively working in our world.

Possibly for you God will open your eyes to His divine hand working in and through the course of history as you study how our founding fathers stood for Truth and found it key to a successful nation to be “One nation under God…”
Maybe it is in the business world where you are diligently encouraging your fellow workers as Christ encourages us.  Or possibly you are setting an example as a steadfast, honest, and joyful worker giving God the glory for the blessings He has placed in your work.
Perhaps it is on the sports field, remembering that God gave you the muscles in your body to run fast and hit hard, along with a mind to perceive your opponents next move and the stamina to keep going when you feel like you just do not have enough energy left.
Or you could be like me, learning about the great artist who creates our bodies with such detail and grace that the smallest change can cause detrimental defects.  A body, where each part has a special purpose specific to the betterment of our health.
Learning to see God throughout your studies, work, passions, or day can be difficult, but revolutionary.  Seeing that it is HE who lets the sunrise another day, as it glits like diamonds over the ocean HE created.
Remembering that HE is in the air, earth, faces, and ideas that surround us.  Are you asking him to remove the shades of worry from your eyes and open them to the satisfaction found in The One who is ALWAYS around you.
For me it is exciting to start my day with anticipation in what new way I may see the God who loves me enough to show me him in EVERYTHING if I will slow down, let go of control, and let Him.
I am not saying it is easy, and I am not saying asking Him one time will change you forever.  Like studying, working, and practice we must continually ask Him to open our eyes or we will forget all the knowledge we once had, loose our direction, and become weak to the mask of the Liar.

Lord let us see you today in areas we normally overlook You.  Open our eyes to your working hand in our lives.  Take away our worry and fill us with your direction and motivation to persevere knowing that you work all things for good. Inspire me today.  Let us be lights reflecting you as you reflect on the world that surrounds us.

"But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict."
